Cross-country skiing: Nordic sports during your Austrian skiing holidays
Glide across a dreamy, snow-covered winter wonderland: St. Johann-Alpendorf
Cross-country skiing is one of the most beautiful winter sports to be experienced in the province of Salzburg and the Salzburg Sportwelt holiday resort. The Salzburg Sportwelt holiday resort is comprised of eight ski resorts: St. Johann-Alpendorf, which is home to your luxury ski hotel, the Oberforsthof; Flachau, Wagrain, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Kleinarl, Eben and Filzmoos.
These Austrian ski resorts are connected via a 50 kilometre cross-country ski trail: the Tauern trail. In each one of the ski resorts you can enter the cross-country ski trail and, depending on your general fitness and technique, ski your preferred distance.
In St. Johann-Alpendorf you will find a rather special cross-country ski trail. The Obergassalm high altitude cross-country ski trail located 1,600 metres above sea level offers gorgeous views into the surrounding mountain peaks. But down in the valley you also have a number of perfectly traced cross-country ski trails for your Austrian ski holidays.
